Wayang in Symphony
Starting last year (2012), Lontar began to promote the Wayang Kulit Education Package through a series of events, including: “Wayang in Symphony”, an orchestra symphony concert at Taman Ismail Marzuki in November whose music was inspired by Makutharama. This was the first of its kind, see:http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/archive/wayang-play-cues-the-strings/
More conventional events such as a panel discussion on the subject of documentation of wayang kulit at Bentara Budaya-Solo in April; and a panel discussion for members of PEPADI (The Indonesian Puppetry Association) in Jakarta that was held in May. In addition, for some time now, Lontar has been promoting the Package through its website and periodic newsletters. As of this writing more than 100 institutions from around the world have already placed pre-sale orders for the Package.

(Discussion: Wayang—Considering the Creativity of the Dhalang and the Needs of the Audience)
this was open to the entire pedhalangan community in Jakarta, and live samples of contemporary-interpretive style were given by Ki Purbo Asmoro, with live gamelan accompaniment. This was followed by discussion and commentary by a number of pedhalangan critics and observers, such as, Prapto Panuju, Nanang Hape, and Yanusa Nugroho.
